National Consultations:

In each country, a National Reference Group will be created, having representatives from diverse stakeholders, such as policy-makers, business community, civil society organisations, consumer groups, media. National consultations will deliberate on issues relating to economic cooperation between India and the Greater Mekong Sub-region countries and will help in raising awareness and capacity building.

Final Consultation:

South-South Economic Cooperation: Exploring Mekong-Ganga Relationship
Bangkok, October 26th – 27th 2005

The Final Consultation of the project is being organised on October 26th – 27th 2005 in Bangkok in association with Centre for Ecological Economics (CEE).

The objective of the Final Consultation is to discuss the key findings of background research and business perceptions on the present and future scope of economic cooperation between India and GMS countries. It intends to involve business bodies, policy-makers, research institutions, civil society organisations and representatives of international and inter-governmental organisations to discuss issues for better economic cooperation between India and GMS countries. A wide variety of participants from Cambodia, India, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand have been invited to participate at the consultation.

The interactive seminar will deliberate on the following issues:

  • Trade and Investment Relationship
  • Transport Facilitation for Better Trade
  • Enterprise Development & Cooperation
