Why the Doha deadlock? What are the Doha rounds and why has there been a deadlock over it for so long?
Livemint, September 24, 2009

After a two-day conclave earlier this month, the union minister for commerce and industry, Anand Sharma, announced that a deadlock over the Doha Round of trade talks had been broken, and that negotiations would now go forward.

On Just to Clarify, we’ll look today at what the often-used term “Doha Round” means, and why exactly there has been a deadlock over it. CUTS, standing for Consumer Unit and Trust Society, is an NGO that works on trade and regulatory issues.
