GRANITE

In this era when globalisation is spreading its wings in every nook and corner of the world, the overall goal of the GRANITE project is to establish upward and downward linkages between grassroots and policy-makers (both at the state and the national level) on economic issues. GRANITE is addressing such complex issues and their relationship with economic development and governance in India. It is being implemented by developing the capacity and comprehensiveness of local civil society organisations in eight Indian states.

As the project progresses to create a sustainable space for the Indian civil society to make citizens’ voices heard on issues relating to economic governance, GRANITE E-Newsletter focuses on issues relating to two sectors: agriculture and textiles & clothing, as they are the two biggest sources of livelihoods of the people of India. It will not only act as a source of information but also facilitate citizens to be better informed with regard to livelihood opportunities.
