Indo-Bangla Trade: Focus on the North East Stakeholder Consultation

This programme acknowledges the immense potential of economic and regional cooperation between Bangladesh and North East India. It aims to promote cooperation among these regions initially, and eventually boost mutually beneficial economic relations between whole of India and Bangladesh. Impetus is being provided by CUTS Center for International Trade, Economics and Environment (CUTS CITEE), in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES-India), by organising consultations which involve stakeholders from these neigbouring nations. The Stakeholder consultation held in Agartala on 9th August, 2009 resulted in the formation of a Sub Regional Independent Task Force on Connectivity & Cooperation, comprising representatives of civil society and business chambers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan.
